Matcha is not a new product but a very old one indeed being used by Buddhist monks in China and Japan for more than a thousand years. Matcha can be thought of as a type of concentrated green tea. It is prepared from the leaves of the tea bush which are kept in the shade for several weeks before harvesting. Once harvested and dried, the tea leaves have their stems and veins removed and are ground into a very fine powder. Matcha green tea is particularly rich in antioxidants, contains other stimulants that can help keep your mind alert and improve mental performance and also increase metabolism.

Chapabars makes a raw, nutrient-packed energy bar using minimally-processed cricket protein powder with the highest quality ingredients. Each bar is free of gluten, grain, soy, dairy, refined sugars, genetically modified organisms, animal products and is kosher. Perfect as a meal-replacement, healthful energy boost or pre/post-exercise.
We include the mínimum number of ingredients in our bars and cut out all the extra fat ( no pun intended ) all too common in power bars. Chapabars provide consumers with a natural snack that is convenient for eating on the go. Each bar contains close to 200 calories and depending on the ingredients, there are many important vitamins, minerals and nutrients in each bar. Instead of dairy or plant based proteins such as soy, hemp, brown rice or whey powder, the key ingredient in any chapabar is the cricket powder. We also make heavy use of nuts such as almonds, walnuts, cashews, brazolian nuts as well as superfoods which are nutritionally dense foods that are extra (“ super”) beneficial for the human body such as matcha green team, chia or flax seeds, are used where they add vitamins, flavonoids, or antioxidants to the mix.
